A nanobubble is an extremely small gas bubble, typically less than 200 nanometers (nm) in diameter, suspended within a liquid. These innovative, invisible nano oxygen systems exhibit unique properties that set them apart from regular bubbles, making them invaluable in various industrial and environmental applications such as nanobubbles water treatment.

Nanoveld technology has evolved from a theoretical curiosity to a game-changing industrial tool. With ongoing research, its applications are expanding rapidly, making it a crucial innovation in water treatment, healthcare, and energy.
The concept of extremely small bubbles was first proposed in the late 20th century. However, traditional physics suggested that such bubbles should collapse quickly due to surface tension and internal pressure. Initial studies on microbubbles (larger than nanobubbles) in medical ultrasound and water treatment led to interest in even smaller bubbles.
In the 1990s, Japanese and European scientists began investigating how nanobubbles could remain stable in liquids. This was surprising because classical bubble physics predicted their rapid dissolution. The first studies proposed that nanobubbles stabilize due to their negative surface charge, which prevents coalescence and collapse. Around 2000, researchers at the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University published key papers proving the existence of nanobubbles in water, sparking increased interest in the field.
The early 2000s witnessed the development of advanced measurement techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) that confirmed the presence of nanobubbles in liquids. This period marked the beginning of significant industrial applications, including nanobubbles water treatment and the formation of various nanobubble systems for agriculture and aquaculture. In 2007, Japan established the Fine Bubble Industries Association (FBIA) to drive further research and commercialization.
The 2010s saw major breakthroughs in nanobubble generation technology, leading to widespread industrial applications. For Water Purification & Wastewater Treatment, Nanoveld showed superior ability to remove contaminants, break down organic materials, and reduce biofilms. For Medical and Biomedical Uses, Researchers explored using oxygen nanobubbles for wound healing, cancer treatment and targeted drug delivery. For Agriculture and Aquaculture, Oxygen and ozone nanobubbles improved plant growth and fish health by increasing dissolved oxygen levels in water. For Food & Beverage Industry, Nanoveld were introduced to enhance beverage carbonation, improve food washing, and increase shelf life.
